Description
Are you looking for a highly effective way to practice and improve your students' decoding and blending skills with Silent E words? Backward blending and decoding is the perfect addition to ANY literacy block! With repetitive and consistent use, backward decoding will skyrocket your students' reading progress! Perfect for whole group and small group instruction, these digital slides contain 1,000's of letter animations making them incredibly versatile, EFFECTIVE and ENGAGING for students!
This resource includes both POWERPOINT AND Google Slides™ presentations!
***Be sure to watch the video preview to see backward decoding in action in my classroom! Please note that the video preview only shows one of the sets (a_e). However, ALL silent E sets use the exact same format, making them easy to use and implement into any literacy routine!
This Bundle Includes:
- Long A with Silent E (a_e) Backward Decoding (40 Slides)
- Long I with Silent E (i_e) Backward Decoding (38 Slides)
- Long O with Silent E (o_e) Backward Decoding (33 Slides)
- Long U with Silent E (u_e) Backward Decoding (20 Slides)
- Mixed Silent E Backward Decoding: Mixed Silent E Patterns on every slide (80 Slides)
Please note that the “e_e” spelling pattern is very rare. In fact, very few 1-syllable words contain the ‘e’ consonant ‘e’ spelling pattern. Consequently, there are only a few slides that include e_e words. However, I have included a few multisyllabic word slides to help emphasize when e_e is most commonly used.
- All slides contain animation (In PowerPoint AND Google Slides™).
- Slides are organized by vowel sound (vowel by itself) and rime units (See video preview for an example of both)
- Arrows link Silent E to long vowel sound
- Word lists progress from basic CVCe words to words containing consonant blends and digraphs
You May Also Like Backward Decoding With:
- Short Vowels
- Mixed Short Vowels (All 5 vowels are included on every slide).
- Long Vowel Teams Blending
- Diphthong Vowel Teams
- R-Controlled Vowels
