Description

Why teach about syllables in Spanish? Splitting words into parts helps facilitate the process of decoding. Therefore, it allows students to read words more accurately and fluently. Understanding syllables can also help students learn to spell words correctly.

This set of activities was designed to give students multiple opportunities to learn and practice Sílabas Iniciales (Syllables in Spanish), their grouping and their orderly combination forming words. Activities are aligned with the Common Core Learning Standards.

A tool is included (“alligator clothespin”) to use with every activity. This tool gives students the opportunity to manipulate the sounds by actually touching and feeling it.

There is a set of worksheets for each Syllable Combination (Sílabas con m, l, s, p, n, d, f, t, r, b, v, h, j)

All activities are great for visual, tactile and kinesthetic learners.
