Sight Word Games-Editable with Auto-Fill! {40 Games!} Sight Word Activities

All the sight word games you could ever need! Enough for a whole year of sight word practice! This download includes 40 games. The games include whole class games, small group games, partner games, and solo games. Most of these games are printable, but a few are in Powerpoint for whole class use. All of the printable games come with a color version (laminate and save) or a black and white version for 1 time use. The games are easy to teach and for students to learn. They require little to no prep work to put together. The only thing you need to supply are tokens for students to move around the game boards!

Each of these 40 games (except the editable PowerPoint Games) has an easy auto-fill feature, so you can use any words you want. All you have to do is type in your sight words into page 1 that you want to use in a game. If you don't have enough unique sight words to fill the game boards simply type some of your words more than 1 time. As you type, the words will auto-populate onto the game. It’s really that easy!

Since these games are editable, you are definitely not limited to just sight words. You can type in math facts, phonics skills, spelling words, or anything else your class is studying! As you introduce new sight words, phonics skills, or math facts, you can edit the games and have your students play them again. The Bingo Boards can fit words up to 9 letters long. However, all the other games have an auto-size to fit feature, so your words can be as long as you need!

Each of the 40 editable sight word games, and a short description of each, you will receive in this download are below. I have also included a free visual table of contents here so you can see all these games at a glance.

Bingo-This game has 35 unique Bingo cards, each with 24 editable fields. Each student gets a Bingo card and the caller reads a sight word from the list. Students cover the word on their card if it is present. The first person to get 5 words covered in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally yells out ‘Bingo!’ and is the winner!

Connect Four-There are 36 editable spaces on this game board. Players share a game board and use a token to mark their place on any sight word on the board. The winner is the player who can cover 4 spaces in a row diagonally, horizontally, or vertically!

Uno-This game has 72 editable cards. This game plays like the game all know and love. Players flip lay down cards that have the same color or word as the top card. This game also includes Skip, Reverse, Wild Card, and Wild Card Draw 4. The winner is the player who plays their last card!

Sight Word Speedway-There are 50 editable spaces on this game board. Players takes turn spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. The student who makes it to the finish first is the winner.

Candy Land This board game looks and plays just like the classic game. There are 36 editable words on the playing cards. Students take turns drawing cards and moving their token along the path. The cards all have sight words along with colored squares. The student who makes it to the end of the path and to the candy castle, wins!

Beach Trip-There are 32 editable spaces on this beach themed game board. Players spin the spinner and move around the spaces on the game board. Players move forward or backward if they land on special spaces. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.

Tetris-This game includes 7, 14, 21, or 28 editable Tetris pieces with words on each piece. Students play solor and cut and glue the shapes into the game board. Challenge your student to rotate, slide, and flip the shapes to make horizontal bars for each row.

Card Games (Go Fish, Old Maid, Memory)- There are 24 editable cards in these 3 games, including 1 old maid card. The games play like the classic card games we all know and love.

Extra Recess There are 42 editable spaces on this recess themed game board. Players spin the spinner and move around the spaces on the game board. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.

Leaping Lily Pads This game has 36 editable spaces. Students share a game board, a dice, and multiple tokens. Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their token forward on the lily pads. The player who reaches the log and fly first is the winner.

Bump-This game has 6 editable fields. Partners share a game board and pick 1 color. Partners take turns rolling a dice or using the spinner and reading the word that matches the number on the dice or spinner. Students must color in an outer square that matches the word that was rolled. If they roll a word where the outer box is colored in, they can color in the inner box and claim it. The partner with the most inner squares claimed is the winner.

Jungle Journey There are 33 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. There are some jungle animals on the board that move you forward or backward. The student who makes it to the finish first is the winner!

Slides and Ladders-There are 34 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns rolling a die or spinning a spinner to see how many squares to advance on the board. If their final spot ends on a ladder, they climb the ladder to a new square. If they land on a slide, they slide down to a new square. The first player to reach finish is the winner.

Tic-Tac-Toe-There are 36 editable fields in this game. One player chooses X, and the other player chooses O. Students must read a word and make their mark on that spot. Students win the game by getting 3 X's or O's diagonally or in a row.

Picture Pieces-There are 6 editable fields in this game. Players take turns rolling a dice or using a spinner and moving their token around the spaces on the outside of the game board. Students must read the word they land on and then find that word inside the coloring page and color inside that piece of the picture. The winner is the player who colors in the last piece of the picture.

I have, who has?-This game can be played with 18-36 students. There are 17-35 editable cards per game, depending on your class size. Cut out the cards and pass them out so each student gets one card. All of the cards read: ‘I have ______. Who has _____?’ However, the first and last card have a sentence that is different than the rest. Each student must listen for their sight word and stand up and read their card in turn.

Picture Parts-There are 6 editable words used in this game. Players share a game board and take turns using the spinner. Players color in any part of the picture from the word that was spun. The player who colors in the last part of the picture wins the game.

The Great Outdoors There are 32 editable spaces on this camping themed game board. Players spin the spinner and move around the spaces on the game board. Players move forward or backward if they land on special spaces. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.

We all scream for Ice Cream-This game has 50 editable cards. Players take turns taking a card from the top of the take pile and reading it. If they can read the word, they keep the card. If they cannot read the word, they move it to the bottom of the take pile. Along with 50 sight word cards, there are also 10 special cards in the deck that keep the game moving along. The winner is the player with the most cards left when all the cards from the ‘take’ pile are used up.

Under the Sea There are 40 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. The student who makes it to the finish first is the winner.

Catch the Ball! This game has 36 editable fields. Players choose a color and take turns choosing a hexagon on the board. The players who colors in the last hexagon surrounding a ball gets to color in the ball as well. Whoever has colored in the most balls is the winner.

Scoot This game is played as a whole class. There are 16-35 editable cards per game, depending on your class size. Cut the pages in half and put 1 on each desk. Students move through all the desks in the classroom in this fast paced game. Each page has editable pictures for each letter in the sight word. Students decode the sight word using the letter sounds from the pictures and write the word on their recording page.

I Know a Short Cut This has game has 41 editable words. Students share a game board use the spinner to move around the board. Players must read the word they land on. There are 4 short cuts on the game board for students to follow if they land on them. The student who gets around the board and reaches the finish first wins the game.

Four to Score This game board has 4 editable words. Players share a game board and take turns using the spinner. Players spin a word and cover that word on the game board. The winner is the player who can cover 4 spaces in a row diagonally, horizontally, or vertically.

Checkers This game has 25 editable words. It is played with 2 players. It looks and plays just like the classic game. Students start on the black cards on their side of the board. They take turns moving forward and diagonally trying to jump and capture their opponents checkers. Each black square has a sight word for students to read if they land on it.

Save the City There are 53 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. There are some heroes and villains on the board that move you forward or backward. The student who makes it to the finish and saves the city first is the winner.

Sight Word Sports There are 4 sports themed game boards in this product: football, basketball, soccer, and hockey. Each game has a sports arena and editable sports ball spaces. Players spin the spinner and follow the sport balls around the arena. The player who reaches their goal first is the winner.

Shoot for the Stars There are 23 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. Players add and take off tokens from the stars in the middle as they move around the board. The student who covers the last star is the winner.

Pirate Path There are 35 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. The player who reaches the pirates treasure chest first is the winner.

Space Race There are 18 editable spaces on this planet game board. Players spin the spinner and move around the spaces on the game board. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.

Flower Power There are 5 editable spaces in this game. Students choose a color and take turns using the spinner. Players color in any flower section that matches the word spun. If a player colors in the last section on a flower, they claim it. The player who claims the most flowers on the board, wins.

Sorry! This game plays like the game we all know and love! There are 24 editable spaces on this game. Students use the spinner and move their 3 tokens around the board. If they land on a spot occupied by an opponent, that token is bumped back to their starting place. Players can also bump their opponents tokens back to the start if they use a slide and a token is in their way. The first player to get all 3 of their tokens back to their home, wins.

Birthday Time There are 32 editable spaces on this Birthday themed game board. Players spin the spinner and move around the spaces on the game board. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.

Pizza Party!-There are 34 editable spaces on this pizza themed game board. Players spin the spinner and move around the spaces on the game board. The player who reaches the end first is the winner.

Dinosaur Stomp There are 28 editable spaces on this game board. Players take turns spinning a number and moving their token ahead that many spaces. The student who makes it to the finish first is the winner!

Connect Four PowerPoint This is a PowerPoint game that is played with 2 teams. There are 42 editable questions and 42 answer slides. There is also a main game board where you place red and black tokens. Students place a red or black token by answering questions on the slides. As students answer questions correctly, they get the chance to try and make a line of 4 tokens or block their opponent from getting 4 tokens. This PowerPoint game has engaging sounds, animations, and music!

Battleship PowerPoint This is a PowerPoint game that is played teachers vs students. There are 42 editable question and answer slides. There is also a main game board for you to place and hide your ships. Students look for your battleships by answering questions on the slides. As students answer questions correctly, they get the chance to reveal a square on the main game board and try and find your ships. This PowerPoint game has engaging sounds, animations, and music!

Guess Who PowerPoint This is a PowerPoint game that is played teachers vs students. There are 20 editable question and answer slides. There is also a main game board with 24 different faces. Students must answer a question correctly to be able to ask a defining question about what face you chose. Based on the defining question asked, you will be able to make the faces disappear on the main game board by clicking on them. This PowerPoint game has engaging sounds, animations, and music!

Mystery Pictures PowerPoint This is a PowerPoint game that is played as a whole class. There are 40 editable question and answer slides. There is also a main game board with 20 squares that cover up a beautiful picture. Students get to make a square disappear on the main game board by answering questions on the slides. As students answer questions correctly, they get the chance to reveal more of the picture, one square a time. This PowerPoint game has engaging sounds, animations, and music!

Scattergories PowerPoint This game is not a sight word game. However, it is a very fun and engaging word game that is played a whole class. It is just like the original game we all know and love! It includes a real spinning alphabet wheel, 6 slides of kid friendly categories, and a recording page for students to write their answers. Students try and answer all the category questions using the letter spun. It has engaging sounds, animations, and music!
