Description

Who doesn't love to learn (and teach!) with videos? Often students want to "tell" the reader what happens in a story, rather than using descriptive details in their writing. These worksheets follow the Pixar short, "Mike's New Car" in which students are required "show" what happens in the video versus "telling" the reader. Given six "telling" examples from the video, students will be able to use their own creative ideas to come up with describe details including body movements, facial expressions, dialogue, and the five senses. It is a great lesson for any student, especially those who tend to struggle with writing details! This lesson is guaranteed to make students enjoy writing. :)
