Description

This is the complete Short Vowel Reading Program, part of the Rainbow Reading series! This program has 8 different activities to practice short vowel sounds in CVC words. It is housed in 36 drawers or containers that children can work through independently.

The Short Vowel Reading Program is designed to provide short vowel activities for use in a Montessori Classroom, but would also work well in a literacy center, special education classroom, or reading specialist room. These reading drawers provide systematic practice in building and decoding CVC words in a fun and meaningful way. Activities are organized by vowel sound, with 6 varieties of games to practice each. The final 6 drawers contain mixed vowel sounds or longer sentences to read. Children who are making faster progress towards fluency can skip ahead, and children who need repetitive practice have a variety of games to work through.

Included with this program are Recording Booklet Masters. Each child gets a recording booklet that encourages him to record his work and see his progress as a rainbow appears on the cover. Instructions for set-up, use and step-by-step directions follow this page.
