Sharpen Your Brain with Two May-Themed Crosswords Answers Begin with "May"

Challenge your mind and expand your vocabulary with these two May-themed crossword puzzles. Both are free form crossword puzzles that feature the same 20 different terms related to May and some of its holidays and traditions. To make solving the puzzles less difficult while keeping the activity engaging, all the answers to both puzzles begin with the word “May”.

The vocabulary included in both puzzles is: May, Mayans, May apple, May basket, maybe, Maybelline, May bird, May bush, May Day Mayfair, May Fish, Mayflowers, May fly, mayhem, mayo, mayonnaise, mayor, May pole, May pop, and May weed. One crossword includes a word bank which makes it easier to solve while the more challenging one does not. Even though the same vocabulary is used for each crossword, each grid is laid out differently.

• Try giving the students the crossword with NO word bank to see how much they know.
• Use the crossword with the word bank as a review of May and its traditions.
