This Shared Readings and Lesson Plans resource for Grade 4 Language includes 15 original texts perfect for shared reading, along with a 7-page lesson plan, and 18 pages of activity worksheets.
Shared reading is an interactive reading experience that engages students with a text that is at a level slightly above what they can read on their own. It is meant to be a 15-20 minute daily literacy component.
This resource is intended to be used during the winter season. Readings connect to the winter season and Grade 4 social studies and health topics. Each text (reading) can be used for one week (5-days) during the language and literacy block.
Lesson plans are aligned with the NEW 2023 Ontario Language Curriculum (Strand B. Foundations of Language and Strand C. Comprehension)
