What educators are saying

Used this as part of a poetry unit in 7th grade. We loved it! My students had the best time throwing around insults in fake English accents. Highly recommend!
Wonderful resource as an introduction to Shakespeare! The students were engaged and a solid foundation was built!

Description

Bring vitality and hilarity to your study of any of Shakespeare’s plays with these two 20-minute contests. In one version, students use William Shakespeare’s language to hurl insults, poetry-slam style. In the other version, students try to flatter and impress using unique combinations of Shakespeare’s honeyed words.

This 3-page PDF file includes one page of detailed instructions/suggestions on how to run a smooth, fun-filled contest and two pages of reproducible students handouts – one for insults, the other for flattery.
