Seventeen Second Grade Literature Printable Worksheets for Common Core

This is a collection of 17 printable worksheets that address ALL of the 2nd Grade Reading Literature Standards. They are very versatile, and you may use them throughout the year with almost all fiction books. They can be used in a variety of ways, including as morning work, practice with a specific skill, introducing a new skill, use during guided reading, or as homework.

Students will enjoy a variety of activities, including becoming a reporter and writing a brief evidence-based newspaper article, recording questions in a sticky note format, making a comic strip to recount a story with dialogue, interviewing a character to learn how he/she reacted to a major challenge, completing a Venn diagram and other graphic organizers and sentence frames, analyzing and dramatizing how a character sounds in the story, completing a reading strategy checklist, and practicing a craft the author used.
