Description
This activity is a great way for students to analyze the relationship between sets of numbers and the closure property. Students also answer questions that help them reflect on their findings.
There are two parts to this activity, so you can pick either or both:
Part A - The Real Numbers System and the Closure Property
Part B - Complex Numbers, Imaginary Numbers, and the Closure Property
Directions:
Students complete equations and place the correct equation into a box based on the the classification AND closure property. Some equations can be placed in several boxes, but students cannot use an equation twice. Based on their prior knowledge and findings, they highlight the boxes that are NOT closed under that set and operation.
This activity goes well with my Algebra 2 Foundations (Unit 1) Resource Bundle
