Description
This is an original modern day fairy tale parody "Readalot and the Three Hares". This resource includes an original parody fairy tale that teaches students how to recognize sentence fragments and run-on sentences. After reading the fairy tale, students complete fun follow-up activities.
In the story, Readalot loves to read perfect sentences with subjects, predicates, nouns, and verbs. After arguing with her mother, Readalot goes to the wooded area by her community and gets lost in the forest. As the story goes she lands upon the giant Hare family and tries to find the journal that is just right with the perfect sentences.
The students will complete follow-up activities after reading the story such as rewriting Baby Hare's fragment sentences into complete sentences and rewriting Mama Hare's run on sentences into well written sentences.
