These flashcards are designed to help practice the 42 letter sounds used in systematic phonics programs such as Jolly Phonics. They include vowels, consonants, and digraphs and align with the Science of Reading. Use them for letter sound recognition, assessment, blending, segmenting, or building words.

Note: I offer the Sassoon Font as a printing style choice because it is widely used in various educational settings, particularly early childhood, and primary school. It is a pre-cursive font.

Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade One, ESL

Here's what you'll get with the 42 sound cards:

  • Upper- and lower-case letters for the basic alphabet. (Copy as single sets for matching or with the lower case on one side and the upper case on the other.)
  • Digraphs for long vowel sounds (ai, ee, ie, oa, ue)
  • Digraphs (ch, th, sh, ck, qu, oo, or, oi, ar, ou, er, ng, oy, ay, nk)
  • Double letters (ss, tt, zz, gg, ll, rr, ff, dd, nn, pp)
  • NOTE: Highest frequency sounds have been added to fill in the empty spaces in each group. (single vowels –'y'; consonants - 'n, r, s, t'; double letters - 'ss, ll'; vowel digraphs –'ee'; digraphs – 'Qu'

  • ☘️BONUS - One set of colored Sound Cards as an option.
