Description
Matching activity of scientific tools that lays the foundation for science inquiry
*PICTURE MATCH: Cut out cards of pictures and descriptions. Mix them up. Have your students match the pictures to the correct descriptions and discuss how these tools are used in science.
*MEMORY GAME: Place all cards face down and take turns trying to find and remember the matches.
*MATCH-UP ACTIVITY: Each student is given one card. Students must walk around the room and find the person whose picture/description matches theirs. Useful for greetings during morning meeting.
18 cards (9 descriptions, 9 matching tools) Great for backing, laminating, and reusing!
Tools included: magnifying lens, microscope, stopwatch, thermometer, spring scale, telescope, ruler, graduated cylinder, pan balance
