Description

This scavenger hunt includes 20 finding the Volume of Rectangular Prisms problems to be posted around your classroom. Also included is a student tracking sheet for your students to record their answers. Answer sheet included!

Christmas clip art included on each page.

How it works: copy, cut, and hang questions around the room (don't forget to mix them up so they aren't in order). Students can start anywhere around the room, answer the question, then find that answer on another paper somewhere else in the room. Eventually, if they answer every question correctly, it will lead them back to where they started.

Questions include rectangular based prisms with the length, width, and height marked.

This takes my students about 20-30 minutes to complete, depending on how it is used and if students are just learning the concept or using it as a review.

Find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths by packing it with unit cubes of the appropriate unit fraction edge lengths, and show that the volume is the same as would be found by multiplying the edge lengths of the prism. Apply the formulas 𝘝 = 𝘭 𝘸 𝘩 and 𝘝 = 𝘣 𝘩 to find volumes of right rectangular prisms with fractional edge lengths in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving area, volume and surface area of two- and three-dimensional objects composed of triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, cubes, and right prisms.
