Scaffolded Vocabulary - Creative Writing Prompts - English Bell Ringers

It's no secret that having good vocabulary increases reading comprehension and fluency skills. However, simply memorizing definitions is one of the hardest ways to absorb what the word means and how to use it.

This bell ringer activity introduces a new word every day. Students will get to see how the words should be pronounce, their part of speech, and their definitions. Then students will be asked to use that word to address a creative writing prompt. This activity builds on itself by introducing a new word every day for 5 days.

The PowerPoint contains 90 days (or one semester) of fun writing prompts.
