What educators are saying
Such a great novel for fifth grade in both Language Arts and social Studies. This allowed me to use it well for ELA skills.
Description
Sarah, Plain and Tall is a winner of the Newbery Medal. It is a great story to accompany any literature or social studies unit about pioneers and settlers.
This packet was created in order to be used as a guided reading book or a read aloud. There are student pages with answer keys that are mostly text dependent questions. As well as teacher print outs that can be used during a read aloud. These provide teachers with key vocabulary terms to identify and define and questions to ask while reading.
The packet includes a double entry journal, a page to collect similes and their meanings, graphic organizers for character analysis of Sarah and Papa, and pages for reflection upon the story/time period as a whole.
This book is a level 40 DRA2 or level R.
