This memoir of the account depicts a first-hand experience of a nine-year-old Cherokee Indian who was forced from his home, marched in the cold, and lost his family along the way. Covering the death of his father, mother, and learned hatred of "the white man", this memoir puts into perspective the ideas and notions of the Native Americans as they were forced on their long and deadly march from their homes.
