Description

This sample argumentative essay explores the topic of why we should get rid of our turfgrass lawns. It adheres to a structure and level of writing that a high school student might be expected to achieve when asked to write a six paragraph, well-researched argumentative essay. This sample is composed in MLA format with a works cited page. It is a helpful tool to use when modeling argumentative writing for students, asking them to analyze peer writing, or giving them an example to measure their own writing against. You can reveal it to them in pieces over the course of a writing unit or provide it as a single resource.
