Description

Tame those mischievous leprechauns with step by step, directed drawing activities in elementary! Use my leprechaun art project for Saint Patrick’s Day to teach proportion. Imagine these Irish gnomes in your hallway alongside a writing prompt. The roll a leprechaun game makes perfect last minute emergency art sub plans, too!

Can I tell you a secret? It’s hard to get kids writing in ELA. When they’re not invested in it, they can’t connect with what they’re writing about. Mic drop!

Art integration in the classroom is an effective way to reach and teach all students.

A fun roll a dice game, ‘you pick’ worksheet, and digital spinners make for an engaging St. Patrick’s Day art lesson. The included “how to draw a leprechaun” worksheet will guide their drawing. Moreover, it’ll boost their confidence and creativity.

And, it’ll help cash-strapped teachers like you plan Saint Patricks Day art projects for elementary.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

I’ve designed 3 different ways for students to attempt this Where the Wild Things Are art activity. All will motivate kids to create! Choose which way works best for your classes:

  • Roll a leprechaun game to add randomness to your student’s artwork
  • “You Pick” art worksheet for kids to choose their own body parts
  • Digital spinner wheels, so kids can randomly build their leprechaun and you can integrate technology
  • Printable dice template in case you have no dice
  • Step-by-step picture directions to guide students through the art process
  • Leprechaun Drawing worksheet, to guide your class in drawing a leprechaun using proportion and scale
  • Drawing practice worksheet, so kids can practice drawing visual textures
  • 2 Saint Patrick's Day Writing prompts, so you can tie this leprechaun art project to literacy
  • 2 Coloring pages of cute leprechauns that you can use for absent students or hand out as a classroom prize

WAYS TO USE THESE ART INTEGRATION LESSON PLANS IN ELEMENTARY

My leprechaun art project is flexible and can be used in many ways throughout your classroom or art room and beyond. It's great for maternity or emergency art sub plans, early finisher activities, and even for virtual art class or an after-school art club.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My students loved making their leprechauns. They were especially pleased with the choices given for the figure. The instructions and sheets for the students are top quality. The students understood what to do and so did I…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As a teacher at an arts integrated school, I'm always looking for easy to use activities to promote my student's creativity. These projects are great to have on hand for quick finishers! Easy for students to self-manage and work on independently.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Students love Leprechauns and this was a favorite of my students. It gave them a fun way of practicing their drawing skills, specifically leprechauns.
