STEM challenge – Gameboy Project with Templates & Visual Guide

Great hands-on unit for students grades 3 – 6.

• Building Level: Intermediate - Advance

Students will put themselves into the perspective of a Gaming Engineer, design, measure, and build their own Game Boy console.

This bundle includes 3 lesson plans, colorful flashcards, a Gameboy Classic template, and project instructions with a visual guide.

Lesson 1: The History of the Nintendo Gameboy

• Learn about the history and development of the Gameboys.
• Engineering: Tape, score, and cut the Main Frame Template.

Lesson 2: Evolution of the Gameboy

• Learn about the evolution of the Gameboy and how the handheld game system improved with each new addition.
• Pre-Class Preparation: Cut out the difficult pieces of the templates.
• Engineering: Create the Joystick component

Lesson 3: The components of the Gameboy Classic

• Dissect the different parts and components of the Gameboy Classic,
• Engineering: Create the screen scroll template & begin assembling the inner pieces of the Gameboy

Lesson 4: Completing the Gameboy

• Engineering: Finish the Gameboy classic by assembling the remaining components
• Cut, Score, and Attach the side panels of Gameboy with tape.
