Description

Engaging, low-prep science experiment, engineering challenge, math centers & more! This is a complete STEM Unit to go along with the nursery rhyme "Row Row Row Your Boat". Easily incorporate cross curricular STEM activities into your classroom with this fun nursery rhyme! Check out the preview for more details!

Included:

Science:

Sink or Float Experiment - As a class group, predict which objects will sink or float and then chart the results! Choose the response sheet that is best for your classroom.

Technology:

★ QR Codes with links to YouTube videos with alternate versions of the rhyme – these are safe links so no ads will display. There are also QR codes for videos about how to row a boat and animals that live in creeks and streams, to help build your students' schemas.

Engineering:

Students create their own boat using either popsicle sticks or recycled materials! A Challenge Announcement, Pre-Planning Sheet and Challenge Completion Certificate are included for each challenge.

Math:

★ Row Your Boat Puzzle – cut out and laminate puzzle. Students put the numbers 1-10 in order to make the puzzle.

★ Pattern Block Boat – students use pattern blocks to create a boat, then count and record how many of each shape they used.

★ Roll & Cover Games – a mat for number recognition 1-6, addition with 2 dice, and subtraction.

★ Spin & Graph Activities - students graph the results of the spinner, and then answer questions about their graph. Two different spinners and graphs are included.

★ Count & Graph Sheet - students count and color the pictures on the sheet, then graph them and answer questions about their graph.

★ Ten Frames Mat - – students choose a numeral card and place it on their mat, then they represent the number by placing manipulatives on the ten frame. There is a mat for numbers 0-10 and one for 0-20 so you can differentiate for your students.

Retelling Center:

Full color version of rhyme and a black & white copy for students. Students can circle sight words or specific letters on their copies. A cut and paste sequencing sheet is also included.

Art Activity – boat and people templates, for students to create their own paper boats to retell the rhyme!
