STEM Activities for Humpty Dumpty Nursery Rhyme

Nursery rhyme STEM activities help you integrate science, math and literacy! This is a complete STEM Unit to go along with the nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty". Engaging STEM Activities, including an engineering challenge, science experiment and math centers, make learning more fun! Check out the PREVIEW for more details!

Included:

Science – Gravity Experiment - 2 experiments using gravity - the first can be done as a demonstration to introduce the class to the concept of gravity and teach terms. The second can be done either individually or as a class project. The resulting "Splat Pictures" can be hung up as an Art display on the effects of gravity!

Technology – QR Codes with SAFE links to YouTube videos with alternate versions of the rhyme.

Engineering – students create a tall wall for Humpty to climb. Requires disposable cups. Challenge Announcements, certificates and creation sheet included.

Math –

• Measuring – students measure the height of different characters using the band-aid rulers provided. There are two different size rulers so you can discuss non-standard measurement. Recording sheet is provided.
• Humpty Dumpty Puzzle – cut out and laminate puzzle. Students put the numbers 1-10 in order to make the puzzle. B&W version also included.
• Horse Pattern Blocks – with student recording sheet.

Retelling Activities –

• full color version of rhyme and a black & white copy for students.
• Sequencing sheet.
