What educators are saying

This was a super fun "day before the test" review! We were able to talk about specifics and how these strategies help!
This was a great resource to use as a reminder of what strategies to use before testing. It opened up class discussion about if have been doing these things and why they are important.

Description

Not only do we have to teach our kids all the concepts that are going to be on the test, but we also need to teach them how to take a standardized test. Test-taking strategies are important for our students to know, in order for them to be successful. Many kids know the material but get extremely nervous the day of the test. I created this "Jeopardy" style game to review test-taking strategies with my 4th graders before STAAR. They have a BLAST playing this game. It is a laid-back, fun way to prepare them for the test, ease their minds, and increase their confidence about "the big day". I know that each classroom is different, as far was what is expected on the day of the test... this game is completely editable, so you can adapt it to fit your classroom. I would recommend this game for ANY grade level that has standardized testing.

You will see questions for these categories:

-The Night Before the Test

-The Morning of the Test

-During the Test

-During the Test Continued

-Finishing the Test

Possible answers to each question are in the "Notes" field of each PowerPoint slide.
