Description
This smartboard lesson showcases how to use area multiplication, which can be easier for some students than standard form or lattice multiplication. Area multiplication gives you a graphical way to show why we multiply each number by each number. It can be easily expanded to show 3x3 or 3x2 multiplication as needed, but this shows you how to do 2x2 (like 12x25).
