This sort can be used as a whole group sort to strengthen student understanding of Main Idea and Details, as a small group for re-teaching, in a student-led station, or as individual work for informal assessment.

This product includes THREE DIFFERENTIATED OPTIONS for you to pick to best suit the needs of your students.

1.) Task cards with visuals and text

2.) Task cards with visuals only

3.) Task cards with text only

The best part? All of the task cards are SELF CHECKING! Each set of main idea and details is color coded, so you and your students can easily identify matching details to each main idea. This will help build student confidence and independence, while ensuring that they are receiving comprehensible input that will continue to support their learning, even while working independently.

  • 10 different main idea and detail sorting worksheets (5 with visual support, 5 without visual support)
  • 4 different quick checks (half page)
  • 20 different main ideas with 4 matching details for each main idea
