Description

This activity is a 4x4 square of "cutouts". You can have the students cut them out and match them together. One side is the un-simplified question and the other side will be the simplified answer. The word document is editable in case you want to change up the questions.

Adaption to Cyber Learning: You can snip each square and paste it into a PPT slide. When you do this the students have the ability to move the cutout around the slide and even turn them 360 degrees. I usually mix them up on the PPT slide so the students have to move them and turn them in order to match them up correctly.

Understand that rewriting an expression in different forms in a problem context can shed light on the problem and how the quantities in it are related. For example, 𝘢 + 0.05𝘢 = 1.05𝘢 means that “increase by 5%” is the same as “multiply by 1.05.”
