Romeo and Juliet Introduction & Prologue

This weeklong lesson focused on introducing William Shakespeare, the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, and the prologue can be printed, used digitally, or a combination of the two. The resource includes a print ready PDF as well as Google Drive versions (Docs, Slides, Forms, etc.) of all of the materials.

Students will read about the history of the English language and William Shakespeare's life, learn about the tragedy cycle and the characters and setting in Romeo & Juliet, and participate in multiple readings of the prologue, plus engage in high interest activities to reinforce key concepts. This lesson is perfect for supporting struggling readers and/or special education students or if you are crunched for time.
