Description

Roll of Thunder | Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry | Roll of Thunder Unit
Providing students with a structure and routine while they read a novel is invaluable in the middle school classroom. These chapter journal entries all follow the same structure and provide such a routine for students while reading Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. Students have two tasks to complete for each chapter. The first utilizes the double entry journal method. The second asks students to respond to comprehension questions that provide some depth and complexity to their reading.

A rubric is also included that can be used to assess student journals.

You'll receive:
A detailed lesson plan with rationale and instructions, student handouts for replication, and a rubric that can be used to assess student work.
