Roll and Read {Nonsense Words *All Vowels*}

This set of 20 nonsense word ROLL and READ printables will be a helpful addition to your literacy center. In this set, all the vowels are included on each printable.

Why Nonsense Words?
When students read nonsense words they are relying solely on their letter-sound knowledge to decode the words. There is no possibility for the student to use context clues from a sentence or story to assist them in the decoding of the word. That’s a good thing!

Two Different Ways to Implement
1: When a student rolls a number, they read only one word from the corresponding list and mark it with a bingo dabber. The activity is finished when each word has been read.

Simply print and copy and you’re ready to go.

2: When a student rolls a number, they read all five words on the corresponding list. The activity is over after a certain amount of time has passed. For example, you or the student can set a timer for five minutes and they ROLL and READ until the timer goes off.

Print onto plain or colorful cardstock and laminate for durability.
