Rocks and Minerals Unit Starter Questions for High School Earth Science Classes

I use Starter Questions, or Warm-Ups, with my high school earth science classes to help focus them for the day and challenge them to add to their knowledge base. Some of my questions review previous material, but some questions are designed so that they will learn new things that we may not have time to cover in class, but are still of interest. The questions in this product are focused on rocks, rock cycle, minerals and ID, and mining. Each should take no more than 3-5 minutes to answer. Some questions may lead to a class discussion and/or review.

Fifteen power-point slides of questions are included in this product. Each slide has an accompanying answer slide. You have the option of showing them the answer slide after they have some time to find an answer, or using it for your eyes only. You can also upload the slides to Google classroom so any absent students can have access.

If you don't like starters, these questions may be great ideas for you to add to a test or station review for the rocks and minerals unit you teach.
