Description

Students are required to use their knowledge of the Law of Cross-Cutting and Superposition to give relative and absolute age of rock layers.

Regular Science and Pre-AP Science Rubrics included.

Students can either make a stand alone representation or a poster, but the poster must be 3D, made with textures.

Students can use anything (cereal, twigs, glitter, ANYTHING, etc. to give texture to each layer).

Students present their project (I grade with the rubric WHILE it is being presented), so I tell my students, if they do not say it, I do not grade it! Beats spending countless hours grading posters piled up in my room.

I would give a total of a week, but only a day or two of class time to construct. It can be introduced and they have a work day, then maybe a workday throughout to ask questions. Really teacher discretion on time allowed to work in class.

Presentations will take a day- two days.
