My students loved this game. I bought a set of dice and let them play. We said a few words for each classmate that did not survive the game. It was a wonderful way to introduce them to the Great Depression. I used it to introduce the story "Marigolds."
This made the introduction and learning about some basic aspects of the Roaring 20s and Great Depression fun and interesting. Took two 45 minute classes. I used google for the dice rolling, just search D6 and it comes up with a 6 sided dice rolling program.
Description
Immerse your students from the highs of the 1920's through the lows of the 1930's as our country struggled to survive some of the most difficult years on record. Students will take on character rolls, make choices, roll a die to determine outcomes, and chart successes and failures. Along the way they'll learn in an interactive environment that will feel more like play than education - a win all around! Game includes 101 slides in PDF format, instructions, and student score sheet.
