Description

Are your students working on recognizing rhyming words? This fun rhyming match-up game is great for pocket charts, small groups, or as an independent activity. These are great to use with ELL students to help teach rhyming words in a fun way. It also provides phonemic awareness support for RTI students.

Students will choose an apple basket and find all of the cards that rhyme with it. There are 3-4 rhyming cards for each basket. Sometimes students memorize rhyming pairs without really understanding WHY they rhyme. By having multiple examples of rhyming words per given word, students get more practice hearing the rhyme!

Included are 11 apple basket cards and 37 apple cards, as well as 2 cut and paste recording sheets.

Use this as a center activity after reading "Ten Apples on Top" or "The Biggest Apple Ever" - the adorable graphics on these cards will engage your students while providing lots of phonological awareness practice! This pack is great for any time during the Fall!
