What educators are saying

My students LOVE the book RESTART, and I love this resource as I can see their understanding. It also provides spelling/vocab words each week which I love as well. Thank you for putting this together!
This is my absolute favorite book to use as a read aloud in grades 5-8! I have used in my 5th grade ELA classroom, and during 6-8 summer school. The story is engaging and fun, and the novel study supplements are perfect, and get students working on vocabulary and reading comprehension.

Description

This guide has everything you need for a small group literature circle/book club study of Restart, by Gordon Korman. For each group of chapters (usually 2-3), students complete vocabulary work, an input-output chart to record their thoughts, and critical thinking comprehension questions. Two pages at the end are included for students to finalize their thoughts about their reading: an open mind diagram and a compare/contrast activity. I have my students complete work as they read, then come together and share their thoughts (and add to their answers)--groups run themselves and I check in regularly!

Comprehension questions focus on making inferences, supporting answers with text evidence, making text-to-self connections, and evaluating characters' choices--questions that lead to deeper critical thinking about the text!

27 pages are for student use; the remaining pages are the answer key with suggested answers provided.
