Want to introduce your students to the country of the Philippines? This resource is for you. This resource includes informational slides about the country including a variety of topics such as geography, history, politics, climate & wildlife, and culture. The language is simple enough for younger learners to understand, but still complex to engage upper elementary students. Throughout the slideshow there are images of landmarks all over the Philippines. Included is a page of sample discussion questions, read aloud options, and activities to try.
I use this resource for a travel club at my school. I give each student a passport at the beginning of the year, and we explore a new country every week. You can also use this resource in your classroom to celebrate the Philippines Independence Day (June 12) or just introduce your students to a new country. You can create stations for your students to try some of the activities to make a fun day they will always remember !
