Reggio Inspired Observations: Note Taking Sheets

Two powerful components of a Reggio Emilia inspired experience are observation and documentation. We can observe what the children do and say, document their process through text and photos, and then use what we have gathered to reflect and create plans to facilitate next steps.

I would encourage you to use the following note sheets to write down what you are seeing and hearing from the children in their work and play. Even if you can only commit 10 minutes a day to sit and observe, it is worth it! Return to your notes after the fact to see what you can put in place to further their learning. Your role as the adult is primarily as a facilitator and also as a co-learner.
