    Description

    Purchase 10 products for a total of 30 days of planned minilessons for your middle school Reading Workshop that be used and referred back to again and again throughout the entire school year.

    Each product includes three days of minilessons focused on an important, Common Core aligned reading strategy for fiction texts. These reading strategies include:

    -Analyzing Dialogue

    -Making Inferences about Characters

    -Identifying and Analyzing Complex Plot Elements

    -Contrasting Texts

    -Comparing Texts

    -Identifying and Analyzing FIgurative Language

    -Writing an Objective Summary

    -Critiquing the Author's Word Choice

    -Analyzing and Critiquing the Point of View

    -Making Predictions

    Each product includes an umbrella minilesson on one of the topics above and follows a three-day sequence as outlined below:

    Day One: Students explore the reading strategy using a "Reading is Thinking" card while independently reading and a "Thinking Debrief" card to discuss the thinking they did as readers that day.

    Day Two: Students take their thinking a step further by completing a graphic organizer on the reading strategy.

    Day Three: Students complete a Reading Response Exit Slip on the reading strategy.

    Each product also includes a rubric, differentiated instruction planner, a sample anchor chart for the reading strategy, fully scripted minilessons that take students through the gradual release of responsibility, and samples of student work to show as examples.
