Description

This free reading game includes one nonfiction reading passage and six multiple-choice questions. My reading games can be used to help prepare upper elementary students for standardized reading tests in an engaging, fun way.

This PDF contains a printable version of the game and a digital version (TpT Easel Activity). Each teacher can choose which format best meets the needs of his or her students.

Detailed directions are included for how to play this game. For the print version, each player has a passage and a die. After reading a passage, students independently roll a die and answer the numbered questions that matches the number rolled. They record a tally for each time they roll the die. When complete, they check their answers together. Then, each student follows the directions at the bottom of the page to determine his/her score. The student(s) with the lowest score wins!

The digital Easel Activity version is set up so that Slide 1 contains directions for how to play this game. After reading a passage, students independently roll a die by moving circles off the screen. (Beneath each circle is a die revealing a number.) For the first question, they move circles until the ONE die is revealed. Then, they answer the question. Students repeat this process until all six questions have been answered. When complete, they check their answers and follow the instructions on the final slide to determine their score. Again, the student(s) with the lowest score wins!
