Reading Comprehension Strategies and Skills Songs | Posters, MP3's, & PowerPoint

These 25 simple, original songs to familiar tunes are helpful to use when introducing and practicing reading comprehension strategies and skills! Sing the song(s) of the strategies that you are focusing on throughout the week, and these catchy tunes will stick with your students!

The following components are included so that you can make use of this resource in a number of ways:

- Simple MP3’s of each song (acapella child’s voice – very cute!), which can be used as a teacher guide if needed or used with students to sing along

- a PDF of the lyric posters to print, laminate, and display on the wall; the PDF also includes small cards (identical to the posters) which can be laminated, cut out, hole-punched, and placed on a ring (Note: the posters are one full page each, and the cards are small – 9 per page)

- a PowerPoint that includes the lyric posters and MP3s which can be projected on the screen (not editable). Display on the screen, push play, and sing along!

The name of the tune is on each song poster (which includes familiar tunes in the public domain such as Mary Had a Little Lamb; Row, Row, Row Your Boat; London Bridges; etc.).

These songs pair perfectly with my Reading Comprehension Strategies and Skills Posters! The posters include a brief definition of the strategy/skill and a helpful picture. These posters and songs can be used and displayed together (the strategies have matching colors between the sets – see the preview)!
