    Celebrate the month of January with reading! This resource includes three informational passages (each with its own set of comprehension questions) and three figurative language centers. The informational texts cover New Year's Eve, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Chinese New Year. Each text comes with a set of questions (a mix multiple choice and open ended). The questions are aligned to common core anchor standards for reading. This resource was designed for upper elementary and middle school students.

    About the Author

    Mrs. P has been a public school teacher for several years. She earned her B.A. in Journalism from UNC-Chapel Hill and her M.A. in Education from N.C. State. She launched her TpT Shop, Common Core Tweens, in 2019 after her eldest daughter turned two.
