Read All About: European Explorers {A Canadian History Series}

The "Read All About: European Explorers" is an informational reading packet designed to provide students with a chance to read about the European Explorers who had an impact on the discovery and colonization of what is present-day Canada. The explorers included in this packet are:
* John Cabot (or Giovanni Caboto)
* Jacques Cartier
* Samuel de Champlain
* Martin Frobisher
* Henry Hudson
* Robert de la Salle
* Alexander Mackenzie
* Jean Nicollet
* George Vancouver

Each reading is between one and two pages in length (2 columns of text per page) and include information strictly based on the voyages the explorer made to present-day Canada. A response activity worksheet is also included for each European explorer, as well as a general response activity that can be used for any explorer. The response activity worksheet gets students thinking about the significance of each explorers' voyages to present-day Canada. Inquiry templates are also included for those students who wish to learn more about European explorers.
