How to use this Author Biography Activity for Ray Bradbury:

Explore the life experiences of celebrated author Ray Bradbury using this author biography pre-reading activity!

Understanding Ray Bradbury's unique life experiences will enrich students' interpretation of “The Pedestrian,” "The Gift," "Fahrenheit 451," or any of Bradbury's classic literature. This author biography shares about Bradbury’s childhood and upbringing, his path to becoming an author, and his contributions outside of literature, including film production and space exploration. 

This informational handout also explores Bradbury’s numerous achievements and awards, including his 2007 Pulitzer Prize Special Citation award.

This resource includes accompanying worksheets that prompt students to find the definitions for several vocabulary key terms. These terms will support students' reading of the autobiography and help them further analyze Bradbury's work.

Additionally, these handouts include short-answer comprehension questions to assess students' comprehension of Ray Bradbury's biography.

To consolidate this lesson, an answer key has also been included.
