This pack includes posters in 2 sizes, 2-sided guided reading cards, and a mini-anchor chart for the following strategies:

Stretchy Snake- Stretch, then blend the word (Sound it out)

Chunky Monkey- Look for small words and chunks you know

Lips the Fish- Make the sounds before the vowel, then blend together

Flippy Dolphin- Flip the vowel sound (and alternate version: Flip the sound)

Syllable Sammy- Break the word into syllables

Eagle Eye- Look at the picture to check (comprehension)

Tryin' Lion- When one strategy doesn't work, try another!

**The 2-sided guided reading cards are meant to be folded, so that the teacher reads the suggested wording on one side, while showing the students the strategy on the other side. Each card includes an example sentence to model for the students.
