Description
These ten vivid, thought-provoking nature posters incorporating timeless quotes will inspire your students to write about their experiences and goals. Use the posters to create an attention-grabbing bulletin board or as handouts, and use the scaffolded writing activity to promote authentic, relevant, purpose-driven skill development.
This is not a once-and-done activity. Use these prompts and the activity multiple times through the school year. With each implementation, students select different posters inspiring unique reactions and personally relevant summaries.
The ten posters include images of osprey, eagles, a rabbit, a spider, and a baby sea turtle. The writing activity includes an "Inspiration Wheel Organizer," skeletal outline, final copy sheet, and detailed scoring rubric.
All posters are saved as jpg documents suitable for enlargement beyond their current 8.5 by 11-inch formatting. Teacher directions and student handouts are provided in .pdf and modifiable .doc formats.
