Description
Students will complete 18 problems in total on a double sided page. 15 problems are on solving quadratic equations by using the quadratic formula. In 6 of the problems they will have to set the equation equal to zero. There are also 3 problems on finding the discriminant. Answers include real and imaginary solutions (Students must have covered imaginary numbers).
The answers have been given in simplified radical form and also as decimals for real solutions depending on how you want your students to give the answers.
After completing this activity students will be able to:
Solve quadratics using the quadratic formula
Simplify radical expressions
Solve quadratics in the complex number system
