Description

Putting a Paragraph Together - Putting a Paragraph in order

Learn how to write a paragraph and put things in order.

Perfect for grades 2 - 4

Learning how to write a paragraph can be hard. Take a step back and let the students try and organize a list of sentences into the best order for a solid paragraph. This gives you time to focus on the structure of a paragraph before they try to write one.

This packet includes:

  • 2 projectable slides to teach the concept of paragraph writing.
  • 3 projectable sentence scrambles for the students to decide which sentence is the topic sentence, supporting details, and closing sentence. They also decide which order makes the best sense for the supporting details. Two are designed to do together and one for independent practice.
  • Teacher Directions/Suggestions
  • Answer Key
  • Rubric to evaluate their ability to put the paragraph together correctly.

This file comes as a pdf and also a PPT for easy teaching!

This activity lets them practice with three different stories and help them learn how a paragraph should be structured. Your kids will love trying to put it together!
