Description

**FOUR versions included - multiple uses!**

Overview Chart with the Multiplication and Division Properties of Exponents - Including Zero and Negative Exponents

This resource can be used as fill-in notes, a study guide, or anything in between. In my classroom, I gave it out to my higher level classes before the test (we worked through the examples as review). I used it for note-taking in my lower classes - we worked on one or two properties per day, filling in the rules and examples as we went along.

**FOUR versions included - multiple uses!**
Pages 1-2: Blank chart with only the names of the properties filled in
Pages 3-4: Chart with the properties and rules filled in, blank space for example problems
Pages 5-6: Chart with the properties, rules, and examples (without answers)
Pages 7-8: Completely filled-in chart (answer key, can also be used as a study guide)

Use the structure of an expression to identify ways to rewrite it. For example, see 𝘹⁴ – 𝘺⁴ as (𝘹²)² – (𝘺²)², thus recognizing it as a difference of squares that can be factored as (𝘹² – 𝘺²)(𝘹² + 𝘺²).
Use the properties of exponents to interpret expressions for exponential functions. For example, identify percent rate of change in functions such as y = (1.02) to the 𝘵 power, 𝘺 = (0.97) to the 𝘵 power, 𝘺 = (1.01) to the 12𝘵 power, 𝘺 = (1.2) to the 𝘵/10 power, and classify them as representing exponential growth or decay.
