Propaganda and the Boston Massacre
- Google Docs™
Description
This comprehensive lesson focuses on propaganda and its use in inciting colonists against the British after the Boston Massacre and provides ample opportunities for students to engage in critical thinking through a vocabulary study of propaganda, an examination of primary and secondary sources, and an analysis of the types of propaganda Revere used in his engraving. To assess their learning, students will write an argumentative paragraph showcasing Revere's use of propaganda in his engraving and its effect. The assignment provides support for English Language Learners, RSP students, and those who struggle with writing, with a rubric included for evaluation.
