Description

This PowerPoint presentation is designed to describe the difference between primary, secondary and tertiary sources. The presentation has a description and examples of each type of resource. I have included two events in history, the civil rights movement and the sinking of the Titanic. Each event includes examples of a primary, secondary and tertiary resource for that event. The final few slides allow learners to test their knowledge of the different types of sources. A resource is presented and the question is asked- Is this a primary, secondary or tertiary resource? The next slide displays the answer. I have also included links for how to cite primary sources an a few links where you can find quality primary sources. The usage of resources will be an integral part of achieving the Common Core State Standards. Understanding the different types of resources will be a crucial first step.
