Description
Music is Poetry Slideshow Lessons for 10 different songs.
These slideshows are an engaging way for your students to analyze lyrics, notice elements of poetry, focus on meaning, practice fluency and expression, see that poetry is everywhere, and more importantly, connect with and appreciate MUSIC !
* Each set includes 10 different songs from a variety of genres and the link to a YouTube video that will play the song and display the words.
* Each set includes 17 slides to explain the features of poetry and music. Including, mood, songwriter's purpose, imagery, and figures of speech.
* Each set also includes lyrics for every song, binder and notebook cover pages, and 7 different response sheets your students can use to respond to every song.
Your class can do as many or as little sessions as you have time for ! Depending on your schedule, you can analyze and reflect on one song for an entire week. Other times, your class can simply read the lyrics, listen to the song, and use the reflection page to illustrate how the song made them feel. In as little as 30 minutes !
Lower elementary grades can act out parts of the lyrics, draw a picture for the message of the song, and compare two or more songs. Upper elementary grades can explore the lyrics even further, put their own rhythms to the lyrics, or write their own music. The possibilities are endless!
